The Tortoise and The Hare Video and App Series

I love the story of the Tortoise and the Hare. It teaches a really important lesson, that it is good to keep going and try your best! That is a theme I really think is important for children, and adults! On this page we have 5 fun videos for you to enjoy. The Musical Tale Series, and the Tortoise and the Hare original song video! Teaching Tips: Watch the video once through, and then ask your students to identify what animals they saw. If your students are not familiar with the animals, teach them the names of the animals.

Try to act out and sing the song. Have students take the role of the different animals.

Part 1: The Tortoise and The Hare: A Musical Tale

This four part story is an engaging way to introduce the The Tortoise and the Hare story to your students, and ask them questions about what they say, and what might happen next? Students will love to guess what will happen next in the story!


Questions to ask your students: What animals can you see? What instruments are the animals playing? What did the Hare say to all of the animals? Is the Hare fast or slow? How about the Tortoise? What do you think will happen next?

Part 2: The Tortoise and The Hare: A Musical Tale


Questions to ask your students: Who is going to race? Why are they racing? Who came to watch the race? Who starts the race? What will happen next?

Part 3: The Tortoise and The Hare: A Musical Tale

Questions to ask your students:

Who is winning the race? Where did the Hare stop to take a rest? Is the Hare far ahead? What did the Hare eat? Did the Hare fall asleep? What will happen next?

Part 4: The Tortoise and The Hare: A Musical Tale


Questions to ask your students: What happens when the Hare wakes up? What does he see? Can the Hare catch up to the Tortoise? Who wins the race? What does the Tortoise say to the Hare at the end of the story?
