How are you? How are you? I'm happy
How are you? How are you? I'm happy, too
How are you? How are you? I'm sad
How are you? How are you? I'm sad, too
How are you? How are you? I'm hungry
How are you? How are you? I'm hungry, too
How are you? How are you? I'm thirsty
How are you? How are you? I'm thirsty, too
How are you? How are you? I'm sleepy
How are you? How are you? I'm sleepy, too
How are you? How are you? I'm great!
How are you? How are you? I'm great, too!
I have been using this song for several months now with my students ages 3-6, and it works really well. As a tip, during the bop, bop, bop part I ask the students to put their hands up, then sing bop, bop, bop. Next, hands down, etc.
I also first teach the feelings using gestures and flashcards. For example, for "I'm happy" I make a big smiling face, for "I'm hungry" I pat my stomache, etc. After you are done singing the song, you can simply ask the students, "How are you?" or put them in pairs and have them ask each other.
Game: You can play a simple gesture game with this song. Simply have a student come to the front and act out the gesture, and the other students have to guess!
