What's Your Name? Free Song and Worksheet
Song 1 on Dream English Kids Songs Volume 1

This song is very simple and very catchy! I had a two year old student who came to a trial lesson start singing this song to his Mom a few days after the lesson. I have been using this song now for almost 2 years, and have had really good success getting children from 1 to 12 years old to say, "My name is -----". For more teaching ideas, worksheets and lyrics see below.

This song is very simple and very catchy! I had a two year old student who came to a trial lesson start singing this song to his Mom a few days after the lesson. The Mom was very happy when she heard her son singing in English, and signed up for my class!

Here are the Lyrics:

What's your name?
What's your name?
What's your name?
What's your name?

My Name is ____
My Name is ____
My Name is ____
Nice To Meet you!

I have used this song with kids from 1 year to 10 years old. It is very simple. Have them repeat the lyrics slowly a few times, and then just play it. They will probably be singing along by the end of the song. When it comes to the "My Name is ____!" I either point to a student, or sometimes help them raise their hands when they say their names. During the "What's your name?" part, we sing and wave our hands in the air. Simple, but kids love it.

Game Idea:

Have the students stand in a circle. Use a ball, and have the students throw it to each other. The student that throws the ball has to ask "What's your name?" The student who catches the ball answers, "My name is _____. Nice to meet you." See if they can gradually speed up without making mistakes!
