Teaching Tips:

This is a great song to teach some simple vocabulary, and healthy concepts! Here are my ideas for teaching this song with the video.

• Watch: Watch the video a few times with your children or students. Teach the lyrics (see below) to the song slowly without the video, then watch again.
• Talk: Talk about the video. Ask your students what it means to say, "Apples are good for you."
• Identify: Identify all of the fruits and vegetables in the video. You can also teach the names of the animals in the video.
• Ask: Ask what color are the bananas, apples, etc.
• Create: Once, the students have learned the song, sing the song a cappella and sing it with the students favorite fruits or vegetables. For example," Oranges are good for you. Yum, yum, yum!
• Reading Practice: Write the lyrics on a board, and read them aloud with the students. See if the students can read the lyrics on their own.
• Writing Practice: Have the students write words from the song in their notebooks. You can also make a cool tracing and writing worksheet on Tools For Educators.com For younger students, ask them to draw a picture of their favorite fruit or vegetable.
